Auburn Tigers Betting Preview

Auburn suffered its first loss of the season last week in a hard-fought battle against Oklahoma in Norman.

The Sooners have one of the best defenses in America, and Auburn struggled with penalties and negative plays, which made it difficult to sustain drives.

Despite that, the Tigers did have a one-point lead with seven minutes left before Oklahoma went on a methodical drive to take the lead back.

Hugh Freeze's team had a nice road win over Baylor to begin the year and then handled business against both Ball State and South Alabama.

The SEC scheduling gods did Auburn no favors with trips to Norman and College Station to start league play, and since it came up short last week, Saturday is pivotal to avoid a 0-2 start in SEC play.

I've liked what I've seen from quarterback Jackson Arnold thus far. Arnold has been accurate with the ball, has yet to throw an interception, and has already found the end zone four times with his legs.

Sophomore wide receiver Cam Coleman is a stud and should receive plenty of targets against a Texas A&M secondary that has been vulnerable.

On the other side of the ball, the Tigers will need to spy Reed and do a better job in short-yardage situations.

Forcing a turnover or two would go a long way in propelling Auburn to a road upset.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

Things have gotten off to an ideal start for the Aggies in 2025.

Texas A&M handled its business to begin the year against UTSA and Utah State and then followed that up with a massive road victory over Notre Dame.

Quarterback Marcel Reed threw for 360 yards against the Irish, Le'veon Moss found the end zone three times on the ground, and the Aggie offense scored in the final seconds to finish the game with 41 points in a come-from-behind victory over the Irish.

Texas A&M had a bye last week, and now it begins its SEC campaign at home against Auburn.

Mike Elko has always been known as an elite defensive mind, but it is offensive coordinator Collin Klein and his unit that have been the real difference makers.

I expect the defense to improve as the year progresses, and it will need to, with some of the explosive offenses on the schedule later in the year.

That said, if Reed keeps playing the way he has been, A&M can beat just about anybody.

In this matchup on Saturday, the Aggies will need to be better against the run, especially considering Arnold's dual-threat ability.

Auburn really struggled in 3rd-and-long situations last week against Oklahoma, so the A&M front four needs to generate pressure.

From a Special Teams perspective, Senior kicker Randy Bond is one of the best in the country at the position, which gives Texas A&M a sizable advantage in the kicking game.

Auburn vs Texas A&M Pick, Betting Analysis

Kyle Field will be rocking for what should be an entertaining game to watch on Saturday.

I don't have a strong lean one way or the other on the side.

However, I see plenty of value on the Over in a game where I believe both offenses have significant advantages.

These are two quarterbacks I trust, and both defenses have been susceptible to some big plays at various points in the young season.

The Texas A&M offense has looked as polished as it has in years, with Reed in complete control of Klein's system in both of their second years at the helm.

Meanwhile, Arnold will not be afraid of the 12th man and the atmosphere, and I expect Coach Freeze to have plenty dialed up for Elko's defense.

Lastly, when these two teams met a year ago, they combined for 84 points. Yes, that was with the help of overtime, and much has changed on both sides, but the offenses won out in that one, and I expect more of the same in the rematch.

Pick: Over 53 (-110, bet365)
