Auburn Tigers Odds & Betting Guide — 2026 Season

Auburn ranked 79th in total offense last season. The coach it just hired ran the third-best offense in the country. Almost every number on this page follows from that gap.

Where Auburn stands

The Hugh Freeze era ended on Nov. 2 after a 10-3 home loss to Kentucky dropped the Tigers to 4-5 and 1-5 in the SEC. Freeze left with a 15-19 record at Auburn, 6-16 in conference play, a losing season in each of his three years and a 1-12 mark against ranked opponents. Auburn owes him $15.8 million with no mitigation, the third straight coaching buyout the athletic department has absorbed.

D.J. Durkin took over as interim and the offense immediately looked different, putting nearly 600 yards on a ranked Vanderbilt team in an overtime loss. Auburn finished 5-7 and 1-7 in the SEC.

The scoring problem defined the whole tenure. Freeze's Auburn teams scored 24 points or fewer in 17 of his 22 SEC games. The Tigers are now on five consecutive losing seasons, their longest such run since the stretch from 1946 to 1950, and they have gone 33-40 across the past six years.

Alex Golesh arrives from South Florida, where he went 23-15 across three seasons and finished 9-3 in 2025, the program's best result in nearly a decade. He spent two years before that as Tennessee's offensive coordinator, so the SEC is familiar ground.

What makes this hire unusual is how much came with him. Golesh brought offensive coordinator Joel Gordon, quarterback Byrum Brown, and four of USF's five leading receivers. Of Auburn's 39 incoming transfers, 13 played for the Bulls last season. It is possible the entire starting offense in 2026 will be players who were somewhere else a year ago.

Brown accounted for 4,166 total yards in 2025, with 3,158 passing and 1,008 rushing, and 42 total touchdowns. Accuracy is not his strength, but the staff that recruited and developed him knows exactly what he does well. Keshaun Singleton caught 50 passes for 877 yards last year and Jeremiah Kroger added 597 yards and eight touchdowns, both of them highly efficient on throws travelling more than 20 yards. Running back Bryson Washington arrives from Baylor, which Auburn plays in Week 1.

Durkin stays on to run the defense, which returns more continuity than the offense does. Overall returning production sits at 57%.

The SEC moved to nine conference games

The conference expanded to a nine-game league schedule for 2026, replacing a likely non-conference win with another SEC game for all 16 programs. Each school also now has to schedule a power-conference non-conference opponent, which is why Auburn opens against Baylor at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sept. 5.

Auburn's draw splits cleanly in half. September is manageable: the Baylor game is a neutral-site date roughly 100 miles from campus, and Southern Miss, Florida and Vanderbilt all visit Jordan-Hare. A 4-0 start is realistic.

Then it turns. Five of the final eight games are road trips, including No. 20 Tennessee on Oct. 3, No. 3 Georgia on Oct. 17, No. 9 Ole Miss on Oct. 31 and the Iron Bowl at No. 13 Alabama on Nov. 28. No. 11 LSU visits on Oct. 24. Comparing that against what other SEC teams drew is worth doing before you commit to any Auburn number.

Auburn 2026 futures odds

Books set the win total at 6.5, with the over around -115 and the under around -105. Auburn sits at +900 to reach the College Football Playoff, and opened as a 7.5-point favorite over Baylor.

The over case has two legs. The first is regression: Auburn lost six games by one score last season, two of them in overtime, and that pattern rarely repeats. The second is the schedule shape. Four winnable games sit in the opening month, and Samford visits on Nov. 21. Get to 4-0 and the Tigers need three wins from eight against a difficult back half.

The under case is that back half. Road trips to Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss and Alabama, plus LSU at home, is a genuine gauntlet, and a roster this heavily rebuilt through the portal has real variance. Only three starters return.

Weigh both against the rest of the college football futures board.

Season-long markets also trade on prediction markets, and pricing on a team undergoing this much change can drift between venues. A Kalshi referral code or a Novig promo code gets you started, our guide to the best prediction market apps covers how each handles college football, and we collect current college football prediction market promos in one place. Those platforms quote in cents rather than American odds, so a contract at 55¢ means roughly 55%, and a prediction markets odds converter translates between the two.

Betting Auburn point spreads

A point spread bet turns on margin of victory rather than who wins.

Take the Iron Bowl at Alabama on Nov. 28. These are illustrative prices, so pull live college football odds for the real number:

  • Auburn +10.5 (-110)
  • Alabama -10.5 (-110)

Auburn covers by losing by 10 or fewer, or by winning outright. Alabama covers by winning by 11 or more. The -110 on each side is the vig: risk $1.10 to win $1.

The Tigers angle: Auburn went 5-7 straight up and 4-8 against the spread last season, which is the rare combination of losing games and failing to cover them. That happens when a team is priced on reputation rather than performance, and Auburn spent three years carrying a brand premium the results never justified.

Five losing seasons should have stripped most of that out by now. The question in 2026 is whether the market has over-corrected on a roster that looks nothing like last year's. Early-season numbers on teams with three returning starters and 39 transfers are guesses, and the September stretch is where those guesses get tested against Southern Miss, Florida and Vanderbilt. Track it through the against the spread standings.

Betting Auburn totals

An over/under asks whether the combined final score lands above or below the posted number. At 51.5, a 31-24 final goes over and a 27-21 final stays under.

  • Over 51.5 (-110)
  • Under 51.5 (-110)

This is the Auburn market that matters most, and the reason is the offense. Six of Auburn's first seven games in 2025 stayed under the total before a few late-season overs. That was the correct read at the time: the Tigers finished 79th nationally in total offense, and Freeze's teams cleared 24 points in only five of 22 SEC games.

Golesh's South Florida offense finished third in the country in total yards at 489 per game, averaging just under seven yards per play. He brought the coordinator, the quarterback and four of the five leading receivers with him. That is not a coaching change so much as an offensive transplant, and the two deep threats he imported were among the most efficient in the country on throws of 20 yards or more.

The betting question is whether opening totals reflect the 2025 Auburn offense or the 2025 South Florida offense. Market memory tends to lag structural change, especially when the change arrives through the portal rather than through development. If books anchor to what Auburn did last year, the overs will be live early. Public betting data is useful for checking, since it separates the share of tickets from the share of dollars and reveals whether sharper money has already spotted the mismatch.

Our analysts work the same angles in weekly college football picks.

Betting the Auburn moneyline

A moneyline bet is a bet on who wins outright. Margin is irrelevant.

An illustrative home price:

  • Auburn -180
  • Opponent +155

Convert to implied probability and the margin shows. Auburn at -180 breaks even around 64.3%; the opponent at +155 breaks even around 39.2%. Those sum past 100%, and the excess is the sportsbook's cut.

On payouts, $10 on Auburn at -180 returns $15.56 for a $5.56 profit. The same $10 at +155 returns $25.50 for a $15.50 profit. An odds calculator handles any price.

Six one-score losses, two in overtime, means Auburn was live late in half its schedule while frequently paying plus money on the road. Whether that converts in 2026 depends on the rebuild, but underdog prices in Knoxville, Athens, Oxford and Tuscaloosa are the spots where that history matters most.

We track college football betting promos as they change.

Auburn player props

College prop markets aren't offered in every legal state, so availability varies even where you can bet the game.

Brown is the most interesting prop board on the roster and one of the harder ones to price. He produced 4,166 total yards and 42 touchdowns last season, but he did it in the American Conference against defenses that do not resemble what he will see in October. Oddsmakers have to discount his production for the jump in competition without knowing how much, and history offers no clean comparison because the scheme, coordinator and receivers all moved with him.

His rushing volume deserves particular attention. He ran for 1,008 yards last season, which puts him in a different category from most SEC quarterbacks and creates real value in anytime-touchdown markets if books price him as a conventional passer.

Receiving props carry unusual signal for a first-year situation. Singleton and Kroger arrive with an established rapport with the quarterback and a specific role in this system, which is rarer than it sounds on a roster with 39 transfers. Both were exceptionally productive on deep targets, so yardage props may behave differently from reception props, with fewer catches producing bigger totals.
