Indiana Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 8-4
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 7-5
  • Conference: Big Ten
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 50
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 47
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 22

Analysis: Indiana football is for real. That’s a sentence I didn’t expect to be saying in my lifetime but here we are. Whether it was Michael Pennix or Peyton Ramsey were under center, the Hoosiers’ offense was dynamic all season. Offensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer came over from Fresno State and made a huge difference with this unit. He’ll be a popular candidate to be poached by a blue blood. Indiana ranks in the top-30 in both offense and defense per SP+. That’s a huge accomplishment for this Indiana program and I think they’ll still be undervalued in bowl season. Indiana’s rushing success rate is 55th, which lags behind their other defensive metrics so that’s the only thing I’ll be looking for in Indiana’s bowl opponent. If that checks out, I’ll probably have a bet on Indiana this December. –Kyle Miller

Tennessee Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 7-5
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 7-5
  • Conference: SEC
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 68
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 26
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 58

Analysis: The Volunteers rattled off five consecutive victories to finish 7-5. Although the schedule consisted of UAB and few teams that did not make a bowl, the Tennessee program is headed in the right direction. The Volunteers fielded a top-25 defense in opponent pass explosiveness, sack rate and finishing drives. No matter who lined up at quarterback, Tennessee was an explosive pass offense. That may come into play during the bowl game, as receiver Jauan Jennings will be suspended for the first half after an incident against Vanderbilt. This will be Jeremy Pruitt’s first bowl game as head coach after an inaugural 5-7 season in 2018. –Collin Wilson
