There is a new favorite for the Heisman Trophy after nine weeks of the college football season.

Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker has surpassed Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud as the favorite for the Heisman Trophy.

After throwing for 245 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions vs. Kentucky this past week, Hooker has become the favorite to win the Heisman for the first time this season at +100 on BetMGM.

Hooker has been one of the top liabilities for the sportsbooks throughout the season. He now leads Heisman candidates in tickets at BetMGM with 11% of the bets. Hooker accounts for 11.6% of the handle and is the second-biggest liability at BetMGM.

The Tennessee quarterback will have his biggest test of the season as his Volunteers travel to Athens to take on the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are currently 8.5-point favorites at BetMGM.

If Hooker has a great game, he could have the Heisman all but locked up.

Stroud had been the Heisman favorite for most of the season. Just last week, he was -125 to win the most prestigious award in college football.

Stroud threw for 354 yards and a touchdown in a massive win over Penn State, but that wasn't enough to keep his top spot.

The Ohio State quarterback accounts for 8.9% of the Heisman bets and 12.4% of the handle.

Stroud's biggest opportunity to jump Hooker again is the last game of the season vs. Michigan. That is the only ranked team Ohio State will face for the rest of the season.

The Heisman appears to have become a two-horse race. USC quarterback Caleb Williams and Michigan running back Blake Corum are the next two closest players in odds at +1400.

Injured Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels remains the biggest liability at BetMGM.
