It took nearly until the hour leading up to kickoff, but sharps have finally made a move on the LSU-Texas point spread. More accurately, they finally made a Saturday move on the point spread.
LSU opened down at -3.5 early in the week, and pros were quick to drive that number up. Steam moves at -4 and -6.5 drove the line to the key number of 7 only briefly before pros drove the line back and it settled at 6.5.
For three days it remained there, and it appeared that Texas +7 hopefuls might be out of luck. Another LSU steam move about a half hour ago, however, changed that.
The market shifted the Tigers as 7-point favorites, and while many books have held that number, some have already taken enough Texas action to fall back to less than a touchdown — or at least throw some juice in that direction.
The good news for bettors? Assuming you've got a nice array of sportsbooks from which to choose — a tactic that all bettors should follow — you can probably get the side of your choosing at the more desirable price.
