Virginia Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 9-3
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 6-5-1
  • Conference: ACC
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 78
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 40
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 34

Analysis: Motivation may play a factor for Virginia, as the coaches and players have had the Orange Bowl as their destination of choice. The Wahoos success rate lives and dies through quarterback Bryce Perkins. Although Perkins is expected to play in the bowl game, sitting out for the NFL draft is not completely off the table. Virginia’s defense has been hammered by injuries and inefficiency since the loss of future NFL defensive back Bryce Hall. The Cavaliers are a top 25 team in defensive havoc and sack rate, with the ability to create pressure vs. most FBS offensive lines. — Collin Wilson

Florida Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 10-2
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 8-3-1
  • Conference: SEC
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 24
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 19
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 19

Analysis: The Gators have had another successful year under Dan Mullen. The biggest challenge in the 2019 season was quarterback protection with a new offensive line. Florida ranked 46th in havoc allowed and 74rd in sack rate on offense. The entire unit will return in 2020 for Kyle Trask, making Georgia a national title contender next season. The strength of the Gators is the defense, ranking top 10 in sack rate and finishing drives. Including his time at Mississippi State, Mullen is 4-4 ATS in bowl games. –Collin Wilson
