Oregon State Beavers Betting Preview: Lost Season?
It's hard to believe this Oregon State program is three years removed from a 10-3 season. In that time span, the Beavers have lost a coach, a conference and a meaningful rivalry game.
Sure, we have the Civil War this weekend, but it feels like the Power Four vs. Group of 5 matchup it really is. The Pac-12 may be coming back next year (PAC 8, PAC 9-1 during football season, whatever you want to call it), but Oregon State is certainly not playing inspiring football leading into it.
The Beavers are 0-3 to start their first three games. However, they've played two of the most improved teams in 2025.
Texas Tech spent the money of a small country to field a competitive roster in what it believes is the last summer of the "Wild West" of NIL-era college football.
The Beavers also had to start the season against future Texas Longhorn Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele. Unfortunately, they also have a two-score loss to Fresno State, a team that was run over by Kansas.
If you're an Oregon State fan, there's just not many nice things to say about this season. Take a look at the Beavers' "Five Factors" on both sides of the ball, and it's rough.
The best thing you could say about the Beavers is that they manage to start on their own 30 on most drives. But Oregon is going to burn Oregon State if it consistently gives it a short field.

I have no idea how, but Dan Lanning is surely going to find some slight to get his team fired up this weekend.
Now they certainly don't need it, as the Ducks are playing arguable the best football in the country right now.

Has Dante Moore been a huge part of Oregon's Success? Yes, absolutely. He has a 84 PFF Grade so far this season, with a 5.9% Big Time Throw Rate. He'll push the ball down the field.
However, when a spread is this high the question is, can the Ducks run the score up while keeping the ball on the ground?
The answer is a resounding yes.
So, even in the fourth quarter, I expect the Ducks to move the ball with ease on the ground. Second stringers, third stringers, it won't matter.

While Oregon has historically dominated this matchup, since the downfall of the Pac-12, this game just doesn't really matter.
