Baylor Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 11-1
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 8-4
  • Conference: Big 12
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 17
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 18
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 75

Analysis: The biggest question for Baylor heading into bowl season will be the whereabouts of coach Matt Rhule, who has long been rumored for an NFL head coaching position. (Both the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants have been linked to Rhule as various points.) It is not out of the question that Ed Foley will once again serve as an interim coach for a bowl game as he did for Rhule and Geoff Collins at Temple. The Bears are a highly efficient offense, but rank outside the top 100 in havoc allowed. The opposite is true of the defense, which ranks fifth in havoc and is one of the 10 best units in the country at limiting pass explosiveness. Points may be at a premium against Baylor: It is top 10 in finishing drives on defense. — Collin Wilson

Georgia Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 11-1
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 7-5
  • Conference: SEC
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 31
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 3
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 1

Analysis: The Bulldogs field the best defense on paper led by a top 20 success rate, top 5 against rush explosiveness and rank of first in finishing drives. The Bulldogs defense has lacked havoc all season, but have been the best at getting opposing offenses off the field. Georgia also has the best overall special teams rank in SP+. The questions center around the offense. Three offensive lineman, quarterback Jake Fromm, running back D’Andre Swift and multiple players in the defensive back seven have NFL draft projections in the first 150 picks. If there is a team that can withstand a mass sit out of starters it is Georgia who has dominated recruiting in recent years. Don’t expect Georgia to be sleeping in this year’s bowl game after an embarrassing loss to Texas in the 2018 Sugar Bowl. –Collin Wilson
