In a bid to transform traditional game nights into engaging social events, Mattel is launching its first-ever UNO Social Club.

This debut will take place this week at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, offering fans a unique gaming experience. The initiative aims to elevate the classic UNO card game into a full-fledged, immersive social activity.

Ray Adler, Vice President and Global Head of Games at Mattel, expressed excitement about the launch: “We created UNO Social Clubs to reimagine what game night can be — bringing people together for real-world fun, connection, and a bit of friendly competition."

The Las Vegas UNO Social Club marks just the beginning of this innovative concept, with more to come as the year progresses.

A suite will be reinvented with gaming tables, a private dealer, various UNO games and expansions, as well as other amenities. The target audience for the UNO Social Clubs is the "kidult" demographic — adults who enjoy childhood games with a mature twist.

Earlier this year, the Palms Casino Resort also revamped its blackjack rules to favor players.

A New Concept for Game Nights

UNO is a popular American card game created in 1971 by Merle Robbins. It's a multi-player shedding-type game where the main objective is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in their hand.

Mattel's new venture is a way go try to get people to reimagine game nights with an emphasis on social interaction and luxury.

The UNO Social Club will feature a themed suite at the Palms Casino Resort, complete with customized game tables and a stylish atmosphere. This initiative is part of a broader plan to introduce similar social clubs in bars and venues across major U.S. cities later this year.

Guests at the Las Vegas location will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of UNO game variations. In addition to the classic version, players can try out new games, including:

  • UNO Golf
  • UNO Teams
  • UNO Show 'em No Mercy

These new variants promise to add unique twists and heightened competitiveness to the standard UNO experience.

To celebrate the launch, Mattel hosted a contest on TikTok. The lucky winner won a two-night stay at the UNO Social Club suite this weekend.

On top of all of this, the themed suite at the Palms Casino Resort offers more than just gaming. Visitors will find themselves in a space drenched in the iconic UNO colors of red, yellow, blue and green.

A private bowling alley and game-inspired décor add to the fun. Additionally, a personal game host will be available to guide guests through the various UNO games and ensure an enjoyable stay.

Mattel already has plans to roll out more UNO Social Clubs across the country.

Later this year, similar experiences will appear in bars and venues in major U.S. cities. These locations will be designed to transform everyday hotspots into ultimate game night destinations featuring UNO-themed drink menus, tournament-style play and photo opportunities.

Palms said of the Mattel rollout, adding: "Each event will transform everyday hotspots into the ultimate game night destination with UNO-themed drink menus, tournament-style play, photo moments and more."
