The race for the 2026 Texas Senate seats is heating up as the March primaries approach. In the Republican primary, Ken Paxton has emerged as a dominant favorite with odds at an 80% to 82% chance of securing the nomination, overshadowing incumbent John Cornyn, who sits at roughly 21%.
On the Democratic side, James Talarico leads the field with 75% odds, followed by Jasmine Crockett at 26%.

Following this weekend's news in Iran, the market is predicting the successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Instead of a clear heir, the "Position Abolished" contract was the early frontrunner at 49% (now 15%), suggesting traders were projecting on a total structural overhaul of the Iranian government.

Strait of Hormuz Closing?
Tensions in the Persian Gulf have caused wild swings in the odds of a maritime blockade.After peaking at over 60% following the strikes in Tehran, the odds of Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz before 2027 have settled to approximately 36% to 43%.
The dip followed statements from Iranian officials suggesting they do not intend to halt shipping, though many traders remain skeptical as regional retaliatory strikes continue. What is Kalshi?
Kalshi is a federally regulated exchange where you can trade on the outcome of real-world events, such as elections, economic reports, or even the weather. Instead of buying shares of a company, you buy "Yes" or "No" contracts that pay out exactly $1 if you are right and $0 if you are wrong.
