Bengals vs Steelers Preview, Parlay Picks

Aaron Rodgers Over 216.5 Passing Yards

A 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers has led an efficient Steelers offense, expertly getting the ball into his playmakers' hands. Rodgers has the lowest average depth of target (aDOT) in the NFL, but he is 14th in yards per pass and ninth in completion percentage.

Tonight, he faces a Bengals secondary that should allow him to continue finding open receivers on short and intermediate routes.

Cincinnati ranks 28th in yards per pass allowed and 23rd in yards per completion and sack rate, which may worsen with Trey Hendrickson banged up.

However, there is more upside to Rodgers' passing attack as the Bengals have allowed the sixth-highest aDOT.

Look for the Steelers to let Rodgers move the chains and stay efficient tonight, much like he did last week against Cleveland.

Jonnu Smith 30+ Receiving Yards

One of the main beneficiaries of the Steelers' intermediate passing game is Jonnu Smith. Rodgers has taken a liking to his athletic tight end as Smith is third on the team in targets, averaging four per game.

While we have not seen Smith eclipse the 30-yard mark this season, tonight is the perfect time for him to do so because of the factors highlighted above.

Smith has averaged just 5.3 yards per reception this season, but look for that to go up tonight as the Bengals' aDOT allowed is 7.08 yards.

If Smith catches at least four balls tonight, it's highly likely that he'll cash this over.

Ja'Marr Chase Anytime Touchdown

Now, if the Steelers build their lead through the air like anticipated, we should see the Bengals in yet another trailing game script where they are forced to throw the ball.

Last week, Joe Flacco did so 46 times in his Bengals debut — and Ja'Marr Chase garnered 26% of those attempts.

Chase is going to be the guy that Flacco looks to a ton, and the Steelers have shown they cannot contain opposing wide receivers very well.

Pittsburgh ranks 27th in receiving yards allowed to opposing wideouts, which means Chase is a threat to score from anywhere on the field.

We've already seen him find pay dirt three times over the last two games, and he's a strong bet to score for the third consecutive week.
