Eagles vs Giants Prop Picks, Preview
We’re now heading into the third week of the Jaxson Dart era in New York, and there are promising signs from the rookie.
He’s thrown touchdown passes in both games and has shown an ability to extend plays with his legs. In the defeat to the Saints, in which he threw two interceptions, Dart still showed glimpses of talent.
It’s going to be a rocky season for the former Ole Miss quarterback as he gets used to life in the NFL. There will be highs and lows, but one thing is for sure: the team has faith in him.
Last week, we saw him double his passing attempts from the week before (13 to 26), and he completed 26 passes for 202 yards against New Orleans.
The Eagles have a solid defensive unit, even if they’ve regressed slightly this season. However, there’s no reason to doubt Dart will continue to get plenty of chances to throw, especially with the Giants likely playing from behind.
Back Dart to have over 17.5 completions and consider taking that if the line moves one or two completions higher.
Pick: Jaxson Dart Over 17.5 Pass Completions (+102; DraftKings)

Theo Johnson Over 3.5 Receptions (-114)

The Giants took Theo Johnson in the fourth round of the NFL Draft last year, and he had a solid rookie season. Now, he seems to have hit the ground running this campaign.
Through the opening five weeks of the season, he’s caught 15-of-22 passes and has found the end zone three times.
His line for this game stands at 3.5 receptions, a number he’s only exceeded in 2-of-5 games. Still, we can be confident he’ll get the targets to hit this number as he ranks third on the Giants for targets, trailing only Malik Nabers and Wan’Dale Robinson.
With Nabers sidelined, that’s opened up a lot of targets, and Johnson has no doubt benefited from that, hauling in 6-of-7 targets on Sunday in the team’s first game without Nabers.
That game saw Johnson log a career high in catches (6), targets (7) and touchdowns (2). Those should be a sign of things to come with Nabers out.
The Eagles are giving up 3.8 receptions per game to tight ends, but with the Giants potentially chasing in this game and a lack of talent in the WR corps, we could see Johnson cover with ease.
Pick: Theo Johnson Over 3.5 Receptions (-114; DraftKings)

DeVonta Smith Over 50.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Jalen Hurts logged seasons highs in passing attempts and passing yards in a losing effort against the Broncos on Sunday.
While he might not hit those numbers again this week, there are reasons to believe we will see a good amount of passing from the Eagles. All of which bodes well for DeVonta Smith to get Over 50.5 receiving yards.
The Giants have allowed the ninth-most passing yards per game (237.2). Plus, the Eagles' best offensive player, Saquon Barkley, is questionable and has been limited in practice this week. If he does suit up, then it’s unlikely he’ll be at his best, and the team will want to keep him healthy, which might put their faith in Hurts.
Smith has had 51+ receiving yards in three of five games this season. However, he crucially comes into this following a season-high eight catches on 10 targets for 114 yards.
He’s averaging 54.4 yards per game this season and is leading his teammate, A.J. Brown, in both yards and receptions.
Pick: DeVonta Smith Over 50.5 Receiving Yards (-110; DraftKings)

Cam Skattebo Anytime Touchdown (+145)

Whenever a starting running back in the NFL is plus money to score, I want to investigate, so you can imagine I was shocked when I saw Cam Skattebo at +145 for an anytime touchdown.
The former Arizona State product has only found the end zone twice this season, but he’s a worthwhile wager here.
There are two main factors that are increasing those odds, but I’m not convinced they should be having that much of an effect.
Firstly, the opposition.
The Eagles have a reputation for being good against the run, stemming back from their performances last season. The reality is they aren’t elite against the run this year; in fact, they’re not even ranked in the top 10, giving up the 11th-most rushing yards per game.
Then there’s the chance of RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. returning this week and eating into Skattebo’s snaps. Tracy was limited in the walkthrough, although bettors should be confident that even if he does play, the backfield now belongs to the rookie.
Tracy averaged just 3.1 yards per carry when he has played this year, while Skattebo has been more efficient and seems to have become a big influence on the offense, if only for his attitude alone.
The team will stick with him, and when they’re near the goal line, it’ll be the third-round pick who’ll be getting the carries.
Pick: Cam Skattebo Anytime Touchdown (+145; DraftKings)
