Giants vs Eagles Preview, Parlay Picks
Eagles -6.5
The market has held firm that the Eagles are at least a touchdown better on the road than the Giants.
We've seen this line be bet through seven, but also receive some resistance at 7.5. However, buying it down to under seven in a matchup like this is a great move as the Eagles are in a great spot to control this matchup with their rushing attack.
Philadelphia runs the ball at the seventh-highest rate in the league. Although the Eagles have yet to be efficient on the ground, they face a Giants defense that ranks 29th in yards per rush allowed and has struggled to get off the field, ranking 24th in third-down conversion rate.
Look for the Eagles to have multiple methodical drives that end in rushing touchdowns as they extend their lead while keeping the Giants offense on the sideline throughout this matchup.
Jalen Hurts 2+ Touchdowns
Above, we laid out the game script that has the Eagles covering the spread by dominating on the ground. We know the Eagles are going to run the ball a lot and should be very effective as they make their way down the field.
Philly has had great success converting in the red zone with its rushing attack; the Eagles lead the NFL in red-zone scoring rate and average 1.4 rushing touchdowns per game.
This script creates value in quarterback Jalen Hurts as a rusher tonight. Star running back Saquon Barkley entered the week sitting out practice on Tuesday with a sore knee. He will play, although we may see him get less work than usual tonight.
When the Eagles get in the red zone, they have two clear options: Barkley and Hurts.
However, there is not much separation between them when it comes to usage: Barkley has 13 red-zone rushing attempts while Hurts is not far behind with 11.
So, whether it's a "Tush Push" or a scramble, Hurts finding paydirt twice in this matchup is certainly within the realm of possibility.
After all, we've already seen him do it once this season after doing so four times last season.
Jaxson Dart 30+ Rushing Yards
If you play DFS, you know a common strategy is to stack players from one particular game.
When stacking a single game, like we're doing with this same-game parlay, you can target the skill positions with the best matchups, but you can also take players on the opposite side as they are likely to benefit from a trailing game script.
That's what we are going to do with the final leg of this parlay.
Jaxson Dart's mobility has been a massive part of his game since being anointed QB1 for the Giants. In his first two starts, he's racked up 109 yards rushing on 17 attempts.
In a potential comeback effort tonight, we should see him have ample opportunities to scramble and pick up yards.
The Eagles have excelled at containing mobile quarterbacks — allowing an average of 20.8 rushing yards per game to QBs — but it's clear Dart is an above-average rushing threat and he should be able to pick up yards in chunks when the Eagles defense sits back to prevent big passing plays while protecting their lead later in the game.
