After the Miami Dolphins made the playoffs in each of Mike McDaniel's first two seasons, 2025 marked a second consecutive season with a losing record and no playoff appearance.
McDaniel was fired on Thursday, and the search for the Dolphins' next head coach is now underway.
The Dolphins started the 2025 season 1-6, and after winning five of six games to get back to a respectable 6-7, Miami quickly reverted to its early-season form and lost three of four to finish 7-10.
While McDaniel made a late-season QB change from Tua Tagovailoa to rookie Quinn Ewers, the franchise ultimately decided that the changes he made weren't enough.
McDaniel might be a candidate for multiple other NFL head coaching opportunities, or at least as an offensive coordinator elsewhere, but the Dolphins now need a new head coach next season.
While there is much speculation around who the Dolphins will hire, Kalshi is offering odds on many prominent names.
