Saints vs Seahawks NFL Week 3 Preview

The projected pace of this game isn't great. The tempo might be high, which is ideal, but the Seahawks defense has been elite over the first two weeks of the season.

The Seahawks are generating pressure against opposing quarterbacks at the highest rate in the league, and they're only blitzing around 10% of the time while also managing to stop the run.

You can never trust anything Mike MacDonald says regarding Seattle's injury report, but there's a chance the Seahawks defense could get back Nick Emmanwori and Devon Witherspoon in this contest. I'm not making any decisions based on that, but it seems like reinforcements are on the way for the secondary.

The Saints aren't going to be able to run the ball in this game; they are going to need to move the ball through the air, and do it efficiently, and I don't see that happening.

The Saints play a lot of zone coverage, and the Seahawks' passing attack hasn't really been that efficient in the first two weeks of the season.

The Seahawks might be destined to have some long drives that end with wayward throws by Sam Darnold leading to punts.

Saints vs Seahawks Prediction, Betting Analysis

I think this profiles as a lower scoring game, so I'm taking Saints-Seahawks under.

I don't foresee the Saints offense doing much damage in an outdoor environment against an elite Seattle defense.

If everything goes right for New Orleans, the peak for the Saints in this game is likely somewhere between 13 and 16 points.

Meanwhile, I also think the Saints defense is solid enough to hold the Seahawks to around 24 points, which should keep this game under the number.

Pick: Under 41.5 (-110)

Spread

I'm not betting either side of the spread in this contest.

Moneyline

I'm also staying away from the moneyline market.
