Premier League Odds: Arsenal Gaining Ground on Manchester City Following Excellent Start

As we enter the new year, there is a new name atop the Premier League table that hasn't been in that position in a long time.
Arsenal, a club that opened the season with +4000 odds to win the Premier League title, are down to +155 as they currently lead Manchester City by eight points, though the Cityzens have a game in hand.

Despite being eight points back, City remain the favorite to take home another Premier League crown, listed at -160 at FanDuel.
As it currently stands, Newcastle are nine points back, Manchester United are 11 points out and Tottenham are 13 points out, but according to the odds, none of the teams have a legitimate chance at taking home the title.
United are listed at +2500 while Newcastle are +3400 and Tottenham are +12000. In fact, Liverpool, who are currently 16 points back, have been given shorter odds than Spurs at +5000.
City have a crucial match against Chelsea on Thursday afternoon as they look to climb up the table.

In terms of the relegation market, Bournemouth is the biggest favorite to be sent down, listed at -270 despite currently being in 16th place and outside of the relegation zone.
Last place squad Southampton are listed at -180 to be sent down to the Championship, while the team that narrowly escaped last year, Everton, are listed at +100. Nottingham Forest have been given +110 odds to go down, while Wolves are listed at +125.
Outsiders to be relegated include Leeds United (+340), Leicester City (+550) and West Ham United (+600).
