The early games on Thursday belong to Group E, with the Germans already having clinched the group.
The other three teams are all eligible to finish anywhere from second to last in the group, although my simulations think the current order is certainly the most likely.
Below that, I'll find some futures bets based on my World Cup simulations.
Let's dive into the World Cup Group E advancement scenarios and top World Cup futures.
World Cup Group E
World Cup Group E Advancement Scenarios
- Germany: Have clinched first place in the group.
- Ivory Coast: A win or draw guarantees advancement. A loss still likely has them through at 63%, according to my Third Place Dashboard.
- Ecuador: A draw can technically get them through, but there's only a 3% chance of that happening, according to the dashboard. Instead, a win puts Ecuador on four points and all but guarantees advancement. A loss means they're eliminated.
- Curaçao: Must win to get to four points, which would almost certainly advance them.
World Cup Group E Futures
I don't see any particular futures on Group E that stick out. Germany, Ivory Coast and Ecuador all look fairly valued by the market, so I'm going to pass on any futures from this group.
