Wings vs. Fever Preview

This matchup is shaping up to be an exciting one.

While the Dallas Wings finished dead last in 2025 with a 10-34 record, they've added their second consecutive No. 1 pick in Azzi Fudd. The UConn guard will still have to find her feet in the WNBA, but is expected to pair well with her college teammate and 2025 Rookie of the Year, Paige Bueckers, when she gets settled in.

Dallas went 2-0 in the preseason with wins over the Fever and Las Vegas Aces. Both those victories came without four-time All-Star Arike Ogunbowale, who is set to return to the hardwood from an ankle injury on Saturday. Her offensive firepower will likely give the Wings. They'll need it against an Indiana squad that made the playoffs without Caitlin Clark last season.

Clark remains one of the WNBA's top playmakers, and the Fever's offense will run through her. She averaged 4.0 assists per game while logging 15.3 minutes per contest during the preseason, and that number will likely double when she has a much heavier workload in the regular season. That'll take away from Aaliyah Boston's distribution responsibilities.

Boston averaged a career-high 3.7 assists per game last season and led Indiana with 163 total dimes. The Fever have added new talent in the backcourt to spell Clark since then.

South Carolina's Raven Johnson is expected to serve as Indiana's primary backup point guard, and her pass-first mentality as a floor general generated a team-high 14 assists through three preseason games. Boston might not even serve as Indiana's tertiary playmaker with Johnson in the mix.

Boston only played in one preseason game due to her ongoing recovery from a leg injury she suffered during the Unrivaled season in February, so there's no telling how much Indiana will ask of her on Saturday. She will create for her teammates, but her main focus should be on scoring and rebounding in this one.

Wings vs. Fever Prediction

Boston was forced to evolve without a true point guard last season, but Clark is healthy and will have more backcourt support in 2026.

Bettors should expect Boston to have fewer extended moments with the ball in her hands. That doesn't mean that she won't be plenty impactful, though. Her impact is more likely to be seen finishing plays with a basket.

Best Bet: Aaliyah Boston Under 3.5 assists (+120)
