Fever vs. Dream Preview

I'm on Atlanta. They're laying around five and playing an Indiana team with no Caitlin Clark and no Sophie Cunningham.

That didn't matter in the Fever's last game, but that was against Chicago. The Dream are not the Sky. This is a very good Atlanta team coming off a pretty embarrassing loss.

That was also the first game back for Jordin Canada and sometimes it takes a second to adjust when a good player returns to the lineup. And that leans into the second part of the bet here — Allisha Gray under 29.5 PRA.

She had the ball out of her hands a lot more and had a lot fewer drives. The thing I thought was super notable, her field goal attempts were around the same, a little bit lower and her 3-point attempts were down, but most notably she'd been averaging seven free-throw attempts a game. She took zero in that game against Connecticut.

I think that was the result of being kind of the lead facilitator, starting with the ball in her hands and going downhill. Now, she isn't going to have that opportunity nearly as much with Canada back. In the long run, that's fine. The offense looks a little bit different and it looked like it took a second to adjust. She still had four assists in the last game.

The more the ball is in Canada's hands, the more it makes sense that there will be fewer assists for Gray.

Additionally, this is a good Fever defense. I can't believe that the Fever defense is what they're hanging their hat on, but they are third in fewest points allowed, have allowed the fewest assists per game in the W and are fifth in rebounds allowed, so they're really a good under spot for PRA in general.

Fever vs. Dream Prediction

A fully healthy Atlanta team versus a fully healthy Indiana team is like probably about equal. However, with no Caitlin Clark, that's at least, three-to-four points on the spread. No Sophie Cunningham, maybe another point, at least round it up to four, four-and-a-half points. I get out to almost six or seven here for the Dream if they're healthy.

So, I'll be on the Atlanta side as well.

Best Bet: Allisha Gray Under 29.5 PRA, Dream -4.5
