Fever vs. Mystics Preview

The Mystics, looking to snap a three-game losing streak, will host the Fever in their first game without Caitlin Clark.

Aliyah Boston is averaging a double-double per game this season, but life without Clark will be different, which is why I'm fading Boston in tonight's matchup.

On the other side, the Mystics are going to need a big game from Brittney Sykes if they want to get back in the win column. Sykes is averaging 22.3 points per game this season, but tallied just 10, her lowest output of the season, in Sunday's loss to the Mercury.

Fever vs. Mystics Prediction

Aliyah Boston is averaging 18.5 points per game this season, and now the Fever's highest-usage player, Caitlin Clark, will be out. So, why the under?

In the 44 games the two have played together, Boston's numbers have a clear delta with Clark off the court. Boston's usage has dropped from 20.6% to 17.5% with Clark off the court, but much more notably, Boston's true shooting percentage drops from 58.2% to 44.3% with Clark off the court.

This makes sense as Clark is one of the best creators in the league, and her gravity opens up tons of space for Boston in the pick-and-roll.

Until the books adjust to this, I'll be looking at unders for Boston.

Best Bet: Aliyah Boston Under 17.5 Points
