Aces vs. Sparks Preview

The reigning WNBA champs have had a bit of an up-and-down start in 2026. The Aces managed to snap a two-game losing streak by toppling the Golden State Valkyries in their latest outing, but remain winless (0-1) against the Sparks this season. A pivotal player will be out of commission for the rematch, though.

Kelsey Plum, who leads the WNBA with 26.8 points per game, is set to miss at least a week of games with an ankle sprain. She dropped a season-high 38 points against Las Vegas earlier this season before missing Los Angeles' last two contests. That production will be tough to replace.

The Sparks aren't without other talented offensive players. Dearica Hamby and Nneka Ogwumike are having efficient scoring seasons and rank second and third on the team in points per game, respectively. Both players will likely need to put on strong showings to compete against the league's second-ranked scoring offense.

Las Vegas is pouring in 91.0 points per game, and only the Indiana Fever (91.8) can top that mark. Reigning MVP A'ja Wilson has a lot to do with that success.

Wilson ranks second in points per game (24.8) and gained a valuable co-star over the offseason in Chennedy Carter. Carter is averaging a ridiculous 17.8 points per game off the bench, but is questionable for Tuesday after taking a hard fall in Las Vegas' last game. The Aces have plenty of other scorers who can step up in her place, but Jewell Lloyd could have to carry a much heavier load off the bench if Carter is ruled out.

Aces vs. Sparks Prediction

The Poitng Gawd is still dishing out dimes at a high level. Chelsea Gray is averaging 6.8 assists per game and has only dropped below six assists in one of her eight games this season.

The Aces playmaker is averaging 31.5 minutes per game, which is the most she's logged since 2023, when she recorded a career-high average of 7.3 assists. The 33-year-old's shot volume is up, but she is creating opportunities for her teammates with ease.

Gray notched seven assists in her first meeting with the Sparks, who are giving up a league-high 93.4 points per game this year. Las Vegas' primary initiator has a strong chance of putting together a productive night.

Best Bet: Chelsea Gray Over 6.5 Assists (+107)
