Betting Pick & Prediction

Jackie Young has finished right below this number in both games this season, finishing at 16 on the dot against both the Liberty and Sun.

However, each game had mitigating factors keeping her in that range.

In the first game, she matched up against what appears to be the best defense in the league in New York. She got up 19 shots, but made just five. The Mystics' defense isn't the Liberty's defense.

In the second game, her shot total dropped, but that was because she played just 24 minutes in a massive blowout of the Sun.

Now, the Mystics as a whole are closer to the Sun as a whole than their defense is to the Liberty, but I actually lean to the Mystics' side of this spread.

I like their chances of keeping this close enough to keep Young out there for around 30 minutes, while providing soft enough resistance to clear this 16.5 number.

Meanwhile, I'm fading Mystics rookie Kiki Iriafen despite her fast start.

In her first two games, Iriafen's points were inflated a bit by her shooting percentage and free throw rate. Now she's also battling one of the toughest defensive frontcourts in the sport, one the cherishes welcoming rookies to the league.

Pick: Jackie Young Over 16.5 Points (-108) | Kiki Iriafen Under 12.5 Points (-114)
