WNBA Betting Trends | Liberty, Aces Handle Soars as Finals Approach

With the WNBA Finals coming up, the league's growth continues to reach new heights. It's no secret that the dream matchup for the Finals would be between two of the best teams in the league, the Las Vegas Aces and the New York Liberty.
Their impact could also do numbers for WNBA betting with BetMGM announcing a 27 percent year-over-year increase among active bettors on the league.
Just how much do the Aces and Liberty have an influence on this growth? Well, let's just say that any team besides these two making it to the end wouldn't attract the handle that they have. Las Vegas (39.6 percent) and New York (23.2 percent) have pulled in the two highest handles to win the WNBA Championship this season, according to BetMGM.
That in itself is proof that seeing these two potentially face off in the WNBA Finals could cook up even more upswing in not only this league, but for bettors for women's sports as a whole.
Entering Tuesday, the Aces have a 1-0 series lead on the Dallas Wings in their best-of-five semifinal series, while the Liberty trail the Connecticut Sun 1-0 in the other semifinal. The winners of those two series' will face off in the WNBA Finals beginning on October 8. That series will also be a best-of-five.
From knocking it out of the park on the WNBA regular-season viewership numbers to the expansion of legalized betting, the numbers don't lie. Women's sports continue to boom and blossom and there's no denying what new levels it can reach.
