With head coach Marcus Freeman set to go into his fourth year at the helm of the Fighting Irish, he was as close as it gets to hoisting the first national title in South Bend since 1988. The Irish lost to Ohio State in the National Championship game, 34-23. 

After relying on Duke transfer Riley Leonard at QB, Notre Dame will seemingly go much younger at the position with a homegrown guy. The QB position appears to be a two-man race between CJ Carr and Kenny Minchey.

ND is expected to be favored in all of their regular season contests this upcoming fall with tough tests at Miami in their season opener, Texas A&M the next week, at Arkansas, and home dates against USC and Boise State.

With only six players drafted, the Irish were able to bring back a ton of talent on their 2024 squad, including Heisman hopeful Jeremiyah Love.
