In connection with the start of the 14th season of The Voice UK, The Action Network has conducted an analysis of all the past seasons to find out which songs performed during the blind auditions led to the most chair turns by the judges of the singing competition.
Songs With the Most Chair Turns
According to the results of the analysis, which included 750+ songs and 900 performances, “All I Want” by Kodaline is the #1 song leading to the most chair turns by The Voice UK judges. In total, the song has earned 11 chair turns across its 3 performances. It was first performed in season 4 by Stevie McCrorie, who got 4 chair turns, then again in season 6 by David Jackson (3 turns) and most recently in the first episode of the latest season by Diogo Ferreira, who also got 4 chair turns.
Three songs are in a tie for second place since all of them have gotten 8 chair turns: “Mamma Knows Best” by Jessie J, “This Woman’s Work” by Kate Bush and “I Put A Spell On You” by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.
“Ain’t No Way” by Aretha Franklin rounds out the top five with 7 chair turns.
Artists Whose Songs Have Gotten the Most Chair Turns
When looking at the original artists whose songs have gotten the most chair turns across all seasons of The Voice UK, Jessie J is at #1 with her songs getting 16 chair turns out of 7 performances, followed by Sam Smith (14 chair turns, 8 performances), and a tie between Kodaline and Ed Sheeran with 13 chair turns each.
Adele, Ariana Grande and Beyoncé are tied for 5th place with 12 chair turns each. Notably, Adele and Beyoncé are also tied when it comes to the total amount of times their songs have been performed on The Voice UK – both of them have had 9 performances including their hits.

- Data span: season 1 until the latest episode – episode 2, season 14 (2012 – 2026).
- Where a song is a standard / a song from an opera or a musical, the original artist is not listed.
