The 2026 NFL season is almost here, so it's time to start your fantasy football draft prep. Not only that, but there's a unique way to approach this. With prediction markets like Kalshi, you can find different ways to cash in on your fantasy football takes. For example, you can buy and sell on the top-scoring fantasy running back for the upcoming season.
In this article, we're going to break down my favorite buys and sells for the top fantasy running back at Kalshi. I'll also include whether you should consider taking an early exit from your position.
So, without further ado, let's take a look at my top buys and sells for the top fantasy running back at Kalshi, including Ashton Jeanty, Jonathan Taylor, and
Fantasy Running Back Buys
When thinking about my best buys at running back, I'm looking at undervalued running backs who can make an impact both through the air and on the ground. Unlike quarterbacks, where I was looking to exit early, these running backs come at such cheap prices, that they're worth holding all year.
Ashton Jeanty, RB, Las Vegas Raiders (12 cents at Kalshi)
Ashton Jeanty had a disappointing rookie season, but you need to give him a mulligan for that performance.
The Raiders were a complete dumpster fire. From poor coaching from Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly to a turnstile offensive line that gave Jeanty no room, Jeanty had a terrible situation. I didn't even get into how poorly Geno Smith played.
But now, Las Vegas is heading in the right direction. They got a potential franchise quarterback in Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza, who they can be patient with, as Kirk Cousins is still a competent starter. Even better, new head coach Klint Kubiak is one of the best play-callers in the NFL.
Jeanty showed us flashes of what he can do as a rookie. Think about that blowup game against the Texans, who have one of the best defenses in the NFL.
As the focal point of an improving Raiders offense, Jeanty is worth a buy at 12 cents to finish as overall fantasy RB1.
Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts (12 cents at Kalshi)
Jonathan Taylor was having a monster season until Daniel Jones got injured. Taylor was a touchdown machine, and the Colts offense was humming, with Shane Steichen putting on a play-calling clinic.
But a poor second half, driven by abysmal quarterback play, has given us a discount on Taylor this year.
You have to love the price at 12 cents, especially considering Taylor has finished as overall RB1 already once in his career. With Daniel Jones coming back from a torn Achilles, expect JT to be the focal point of the Colts offense.
That puts him firmly in play to finish as the top-scoring fantasy running back.
Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles (10 cents at Kalshi)
Saquon Barkley is a phenomenal buy to finish as top fantasy running back.
We're getting 10 cents on a player who is literally one year removed from finishing as overall RB1. While 2025 was a down year, I blame that on Kevin Patullo, who is one of the worst play-callers in recent memory.
Now that Sean Mannion is installing a more modern offense, expect Barkley to be more efficient. It also helps that the Eagles traded A.J. Brown, so there's a chance that they can rely on Barkley even more.
This is still an explosive running back who can make an impact in the passing game. Now coming at a rock-bottom price, it's the perfect time to buy into Saquon.
Fantasy Running Back Sells
The top fantasy running back sells are either based on price or injury risk. These are also positions that you can hold all year.
Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons (89 cents at Kalshi)
Bijan Robinson is the favorite to finish as overall RB1.
In my fantasy football rankings, I have Bijan ranked as such. However, buying on Kalshi is a totally different story. You never want to pay the chalk on the top-priced running back because this is such an inherently risky position.
It's the position with the most injuries. If your running back misses time, it puts them out of contention to finish as overall RB1, since they need to play every game to do so.
In terms of projections, Bijan could absolutely smash, especially with Tyler Allgeier now in Arizona. But getting him at 89 cents is too good to pass up.
Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions (91 cents at Kalshi)
The exact same situation as Bijan applies to Jahmyr Gibbs.
This isn't a fade on Gibbs' talent. He's an explosive back who is now even more of the focal point in the Lions' backfield, now that David Montgomery has been traded to the Texans.
The Lions will look to re-establish a running game that went stagnant last year, with Gibbs at the forefront of that resurgence.
He's going to put up a boatload of fantasy points, but just like with Bijan, I can't pay top-end prices at such an injury-prone position.
The best way to approach this market is to look for value, as I did with Jeanty, Taylor, and Saquon. Fading the top backs like Bijan and Gibbs makes a lot of sense, given the volatility at running back.
De'Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins (95 cents at Kalshi)
We're finishing it off with a De'Von Achane fade.
With a running quarterback like Malik Willis under center, that means fewer targets, since these types of signal-callers prefer to take off and run than check it down.
Then you have to consider the massive coaching downgrade, going from Mike McDaniel to Bobby Slowik as play-caller. Say what you want about McDaniel, but he sure knew how to prominently feature his most talented weapons.
Even at 95 cents, this looks like an absolute smash, since I'm already fading Achane in fantasy due to such a significant downgrade in team context.
