Trevor Rogers Under 2.5 Earned Runs
We are in for a great pitching matchup on Tuesday night as Orioles’ Ace Trevor Rogers is set to take the bump after an impressive start to his 2026 campaign. Baltimore’s left-hander has posted a 1.89 ERA over his first three starts to the year, also recording an impressive 1.05 WHIP.
37-year-old veteran Merril Kelly takes the mound for the visiting Diamondbacks in his first start of the year after being placed on the 15-game IL prior to Opening Day.
Arizona has been red-hot on its extended road trip, scoring over five runs per game on average throughout its seven contests thus far.
That said, Rogers has been dominant against this D-Backs lineup.
I expect him to continue that dominance on Tuesday.
Pete Alonso Over 1.5 Total Bases
While Diamondbacks’ righty Merrill Kelly has been largely dominant against the rest of this O’s lineup — retiring the other 13 batters he has faced — Alonso is the only one who has gotten the best of Arizona’s right-hander.
In 19 career at-bats against Kelly, Polar Pete has five hits, including three homers. Kelly struck out Alonso just once throughout the span.
Kelly had a stellar 2025 campaign, concluding his season with a 3.52 ERA. But he is coming off a serious nerve injury, which should undoubtedly impact his first outing of the 2026 season.
