Brewers vs Marlins MLB Betting Preview

The Brewers look for the road sweep on Sunday afternoon, and we are in for an incredible pitching matchup featuring two very highly-touted prospects in Miami's right-hander Eury Perez and Milwaukee's 6-foot-7 righty Jacob Misiorowski.

Milwaukee's right-hander has been unbelievably impressive in his second season in the league, and he has fully established himself as one of the best strikeout pitchers in the game.

The 24-year-old has posted double-digit strikeout numbers in two of his four outings to start his sophomore campaign, and ranks third in baseball with 33 punch-outs.

Misiorowski has been very efficient on the mound as well, recording an ERA of 3.32 thus far, and ranks inside the top-25 qualified pitchers in the MLB in WHIP at 1.02.

For the Marlins, their 23-year-old future star has gotten off to a far worse start than his counterpart, as Perez’s ERA currently sits at a dreadful 5.40.

While there surely is some cause for concern due to his rough start, Eury is still very young and boasts an elite arsenal with some impressive versatility on the mound. But he has a crazy upside when he starts to find his groove, and I expect that to be the case sooner rather than later.

Sunday's National League showdown will bring fireworks as both starters have freakish length and size on the bump.

While the visiting Brewers won each of the first two games of the series by multiple runs, I think we are in for a pitcher's duel on Sunday afternoon as two of the biggest pitching prospects in baseball duke it out in what should be a thrilling watch.

While Miami’s 23-year-old has shown flashes of extreme talent over his first four starts in 2026, he has been very susceptible to allowing walks, which in turn results in runners consistently on the base paths.

This is definitely a weakness we can exploit in the HRR market, as a higher on-base percentage often results in more runs.

While Perez has not seen much of this Milwaukee lineup thus far, considering he is only in his second season in the Majors, the only Brewers hitter to have previously found success versus Miami’s youngster is its current best hitter, catcher William Contreras.

In five plate appearances against Eury, Contreras ripped a double, thus has already proven to have the edge over the Marlins’ superstar prospect.

I am willing to take a shot on Contreras to exceed his 1.5 HRR total because he is off to a scorching start this season, currently batting .306.

SGP Picks:

  • F5 Under 4.5
  • William Contreras Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
