White Sox vs Nationals Run Pick
C.J. Abrams has been fantastic this season, and even in a below-average spot, the odds shouldn't be this high.
The White Sox are using a lefty opener, which is a below-average matchup for Abrams, but Sean Burke is coming in after is an above-average matchup for power.
The weather is below average with wind blowing in slightly and colder temps, but the odds more than make up for it. I have the true odds around +600.
Pick: C.J. Abrams HR (+720)
White Sox vs Nationals Home Run Pick
James Wood has been on an absolute tear this season, and the odds are far too high given the spot.
As I mentioned above, the White Sox are using a lefty opener, which is a below-average matchup for Wood, but Sean Burke coming in after is an above-average matchup for power.
The weather is below average with wind blowing in slightly and colder temps, but the odds more than make up for it. I have the true odds under +400.
Pick: James Wood HR (+456)
Yankees vs Astros Home Run Pick
Trent Grisham is an above-average HR hitter after a breakout season last year, and there is no reason his odds should be this high.
Astros right-hander Spencer Arrighetti has been better so far in his career at suppressing lefty power than righty power, but he grades out as a normal-splits pitcher and should be an average matchup for lefty power.
Daikin Park is a downgrade compared to Yankee stadium, but I still have the true odds on Grisham around +400.
Pick: Trent Grisham HR (+520)
A's vs Rangers Home Run Pick
Corey Seager is one of the best power hitters in the league, and the spot here is a great one.
J.T. Ginn has been crushed by lefty power in his career, allowing a 2.17 HR/9; he grades out as one of the better matchups in the league for lefty power.
I have the true odds on Seager around +325.
Pick: Corey Seager HR (+390)
Angels vs Royals Home Run Pick
The spot here is around an average one, but the odds for Jo Adell are far too high.
The weather and ballpark are neutral for power, and the matchup against Seth Lugo is an average one for righty power. Adell is one of the best HR hitters in the league, and while he started off the season slowly, he's turned things around recently.
I have the true odds on Adell under +400.
