The ALCS and NLCS are both in action on Thursday night with Dodgers vs Brewers at 6:08 p.m. ET and Blue Jays vs Mariners at 8:33 p.m. ET.
Let’s discuss my favorite Underdog and PrizePicks picks for the MLB Playoff games on Thursday, Oct. 16.
MLB Player Props: Best PrizePicks Plays
- Tyler Glasnow More Than 6.5 Strikeouts
- Shohei Ohtani More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Jackson Chourio More Than 0.5 Hits
Tyler Glasnow has been masterful so far this postseason despite limited work, throwing 7 2/3 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts.
Glasnow is capable of racking up strikeouts in bunches, and despite Milwaukee’s aggressive contact-oriented approach, I think the right-hander surpasses this projection with ease.
Pick: More Than 6.5 Strikeouts
Shohei Ohtani has been uncharacteristically quiet during the Dodgers’ dominant postseason run, but Thursday is the time for him to rise to the occasion.
The generational talent carries just a .147/.275/.324 slash line in the 2025 postseason, but a return to Dodger Stadium should provide Ohtani with some much-needed rejuvenation.
Pick: More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
The 21-year-old phenom Jackson Chourio has been the Brewers’ most consistent hitter so far in October, and I don’t anticipate this changing with his team’s back against the wall.
Expect Chourio to do his part by collecting at least one base hit in tonight’s affair.
Pick: More Than 0.5 Hits
MLB Playoff Props: Best Picks For Underdog Entries
- Luis Castillo Higher Than 4.5 Strikeouts
- Max Scherzer Higher Than 3.5 Strikeouts
- George Springer Higher Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
The Mariners turn to veteran right-hander Luis Castillo in Game 4 as they try to push the Blue Jays to the brink of elimination.
Across five postseason starts, Castillo has a dazzling 1.40 ERA and 23 strikeouts across 25 2/3 innings of work.
Additionally, Castillo had some absurd home-road splits during the 2025 regular season with a 2.60 ERA and 24.7 strikeout rate at home, compared to a 4.71 ERA and 18.4 strikeout rate on the road.
Expect these trends to continue and for Castillo to rack up at least five strikeouts.
Pick: Higher Than 4.5 Strikeouts
Max Scherzer is one of the best pitchers ever to grace an MLB mound, and despite being well past his prime, he is still a capable arm.
The Blue Jays are turning to Scherzer for the experience factor over skill, and it could be a sharp decision.
To hit his projection, the future Hall of Famer only needs four strikeouts.
Scherzer nailing this projection requires him going deep enough, so if the M’s can’t figure him out early, this should be an easy win.
Pick: Higher Than 3.5 Strikeouts
George Springer is one of the most prolific postseason hitters in MLB history, and his outstanding 2025 season has carried right into October.
Springer carries a 155 wRC+ supported by three home runs this postseason, and the Blue Jays are relying on his white-hot bat to stay that way in a pivotal Game 4.
Expect the veteran to rise to the occasion tonight.
Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
