Public bettors had a tough Friday night, as the most popular bets of the night — the Giants and Astros — both suffered one-run losses.
The Astros, though, are actually seeing a heavier backing today, making them one of the public's three favorite plays on Saturday.

Houston Astros (-190) at Tampa Bay Rays
4:05 p.m. ET
The Astros have drawn 81% of bets and 92% of dollars, making them today's most popular pick. Their line hasn't budged, though, sticking at -190 since opening.
Why the public loves Houston: As mentioned, the 'Stros dropped the first game of this series last night. Thinking that a good team can't possibly lose two in a row, the public is unsurprisingly all over them today. Oh, and Justin Verlander will be taking the mound, so that doesn't hurt.
Los Angeles Dodgers (-174) vs. Colorado Rockies
7:15 p.m. ET
The Dodgers have attracted 77% of bettors and 85% of dollars but have fallen from their opening line of -180.
Why the public loves LA: I'm surprised to see this game so lopsided. The Dodgers are only 3.5 games up on the Rockies, so 77% of bets on a -174 line seems high.
But the public remembers the Dodgers as last year's 104-58 National League champs, so they're expecting this team to turn it on at any moment.
Seattle Mariners (-205) vs. Kansas City Royals
10:10 p.m. ET
At -205, the Mariners are today's biggest favorite, but they've still managed to draw 78% of bettors and of 82% of dollars.
Why the public loves Seattle: King Felix is going against the 25-56 Royals, so what's not to love? The Mariners have also been especially hot as of late, winning their past five games.
