For my Wednesday MLB player props, I'll be looking into a trio of picks for Daylen Lile, Jack Flaherty, and Colson Montgomery.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for the MLB games on Wednesday, September 10.
MLB Player Props for September 10, 2025
- Daylen Lile Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (+110, DraftKings)
- Jack Flaherty Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-130, Fanatics)
- Colson Montgomery Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (+115, Fanatics)
Nationals vs Marlins Player Props: Lile’s Hot Bat vs Perez’s Struggles
The Nationals have won their last five games against the Marlins while scoring 7.8 runs per game. James Wood and CJ Abrams are the big names in the Nationals' lineup as former top prospects and Wood being a first-time All-Star. They have had big series thus far, but so has Lile.
Per MLB Pipeline, the former second rounder was the No. 7 prospect in Washington's system as recently as last year. He debuted in May and has made an immediate impact, slashing .282/ .327/.450 with five home runs, 29 RBI, and eight stolen bases. Lile enters tonight's game with a nine-game hitting streak, during which he is hitting .432 with two home runs, seven RBI, and 11 runs.
Five of those games have come against the Marlins, including one against tonight's starter, Eury Perez. Like Lile, Perez is a former top prospect himself, but he has struggled mightily of late. He has allowed 12 earned runs in his last 4 and 2/3 innings, which has bumped his ERA from 3.44 to 4.66. He allowed seven of those runs to Washington, in a game that Lile went 2-for-3 against him.
Lile has recorded two hits (+310) in seven of his last nine games. Two hits tonight would clear this line, but he has also recorded two or more hits, runs, and RBI in each of his last nine games while averaging 3.8 per game. That also means we are getting a recent 100% hit rate at +110 and given the matchup with a short turnaround against Perez, I love the price.
Yankees vs Tigers Player Props: Flaherty Looks to Silence Yankees Again
Tarik Skubal is a heavy favorite to win his second consecutive Cy Young Award. Manager AJ Hinch knows that barring a sweep, he will have Skubal multiple times in an ALDS or ALCS, but who will pitch behind him remains a question mark. One candidate is Casey Mize, who had struggled of late, but struck out eight last night in the series opener against the Yankees. But, another potential candidate is Flaherty.
Now, Flaherty has a 4.85 ERA on the year, but he has a 4.10 xERA and 3.97 FIP. However, against teams currently in a playoff spot, Flaherty has a 2.31 ERA in 62 and 1/3 innings this season. That includes six or more strikeouts against the Blue Jays (twice), Astros, and Yankees.
Flaherty has 171 strikeouts in 146 innings this season. He has recorded six or more in 17-of-28 starts for a 60% hit rate. He will face a Yankees lineup that ranks eight in strikeout rate this season. He has cleared this line in two of his last three starts against the Yankees, including nine against them in April. He should reach six strikeouts tonight with five or six innings.
Rays vs White Sox Player Props: Montgomery’s Power Surge Continues
Another rookie that has been raking this season is Montgomery. The White Sox shortstop ranks third in home runs (18) among rookies despite debuting on the Fourth of July. With his double last night, 25 of his 45 hits have gone for extra bases and he has a .847 OPS in 195 at-bats.
For the Rays, Ryan Pepiot was scheduled to start tonight but was scratched due to fatigue. Instead, Griffin Jax will open as he did last Friday and left-hander Joe Rock could follow him. If Montgomery bats cleanup again tonight, he may not see Jax if his teammates go down in order. Given his splits (.955 OPS against righties), it would be preferred that he gets a matchup against a right-hander. However, assuming Rock throws multiple innings, he may still get a couple of at-bats against right-handers.
Whoever is pitching for Tampa, I expect him to hit the ball hard. While he does not qualify on StatCast yet, Montgomery has a 43.6% hard hit percentage and an elite 14.3% barrel rate, double the league average. If Montgomery gets his pitch, he could blast another double or his 19th home run. Either would help him clear this line tonight, which he has reached in seven of his last nine games while averaging 3.3 hits, runs and RBI per game.
