Story: Back Former-Marlins to Thrive on Saturday Night

The Yankees continue on its road-trip in Houston as they prepare to square off with the Astros on Saturday night in the second of a three-game set at Daikin Park (Formerly Minute Maid Park).

Below, I will dive into this American League special and provide a same-game-parlay selection that you can wager on ahead of Saturday night’s showdown.

Yankees Prop Pick: Ryan Weathers Over 5.5 Strikeouts

First-year Yankee left-hander Ryan Weathers is set to take the mound for New York and has quietly had a phenomenal start to his American League debut.

The former-Marlin has recorded a 3.18 ERA thus far across his first four outings of the season, along with 36 punch-outs (Ks), which ranks inside the top-10 in baseball.

Weathers is coming off an impressive tenure with Miami, recording a sub-4.00 ERA in each of the last two seasons as well.

The Yanks’ lefty has quickly established himself as one of the best strikeout pitchers in all of Major League Baseball, and has also been unbelievably efficient on the bump thus far in his first year in the Big Apple.

Weathers ranks seventh in baseball in ‘K/9’ — with the left-hander having retired a magnificent 11.4 batters per nine frames to start his American League- 2026 debut.

While it is definitely worthwhile to note that Houston ranks seventh in baseball in regard to evading punch-outs, I still have faith backing Weathers to exceed his strikeout total on Saturday night.

In an Astros’ lineup largely consisting of right-handed hitters minus its star-slugger in DH Yordan Alvarez, the Yankees’ lefty has retired one of every 3.5 batters he has faced this season on the right side of the plate.

That said, I still feel comfortable backing the first-year Yankee to continue his 2026 dominance — and will be picking New York’s left-hander to exceed his strikeout total for the front leg of our SGP ahead of Saturday night’s battle between American League foes.

Weathers is coming off paternity leave to make the start for the Yanks on Saturday night in Houston, and I expect the first-time father to be very motivated to impress versus one of New York’s biggest rivals.

Yankees Prop Pick: Jazz Chisholm Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs

In the visiting dugout, 26-year-old right-hander Mike Burrows will take the mound for Houston, looking to improve on a dreadful start to his 2026 campaign.

Over his first five starts of the season, Burrows has recorded a 6.75 ERA thus far, to go along with a horrific 1.7 WHIP as well.

In his first nearly 27 innings of work in 2026, Houston’s righty has allowed a whopping 36 hits, 20 earned runs (ER), and five homers.

The former-Pirate is in just his second season in a major-league rotation, and appears to be having substantial difficulty thus far transitioning from his dominance in Triple-A.

Though Burrows has previously faced this Yankees’ lineup just four times collectively, I expect the Astros’ righty to have a tough time navigating a red-hot New York offense that seems to be finding its groove.

In four previous at-bats (AB) versus New York’s Saturday night lineup, the Yankees’ 2B Jazz Chisolm Jr was the only one to have found success, having blasted a solo shot in the process.

After being dealt to the Yankees at last year’s trade deadline via Miami, Jazz was magnificent in the latter half of his 2025 campaign — having blasted 11 homers and 30 RBIs — whilst also swiping double-digit bases (SB).

To say Jazz is off to a sluggish second season in New York would be an understatement, as New York’s IF is currently posting a .190 BA in 2026 thus far- along with just one homer and four RBIs.

Despite his subpar start to the season, I am willing to take a shot on Jazzy to find success versus Burrows on Saturday night as I expect him to revert to last season’s form sooner rather than later.

Given Burrow’s atrocious form in 2026, I am inclined to target one of the Yankees’ player prop markets to extract parlay value ahead of Saturday night’s American League clash.

The Astros’ right-hander is averaging upwards of seven hits per game thus far, which should plausibly result in several New York hitters consistently finding themselves on the basepaths — ready to be driven home.

That said, I think targeting the HRR (Hits + Runs + RBIs) player prop market is a great approach for the second leg of Saturday night’s SGP.

To round out our SGP- I am looking to back Yanks’ 2B Jazz Chisolm Jr to exceed his 1.5 HRR total on Saturday night in Houston – building upon his prior success versus Houston’s right-hander.
