UFC Fight Night 150 is headlined by a middleweight clash between Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza and Jack 'The Joker' Hermansson, who are the division's respective No. 4 and No. 10 contenders.

This main event took awhile to come to fruition, as No. 2 contender Yoel Romero was originally slated to fight No. 7 contender Paulo Costa before Souza replaced the Costa. Then Romero was forced to withdraw due to an illness, leading to Hermansson agreeing to the bout on fewer than four weeks notice.

Souza was last seen scoring a vicious knockout on former middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 230 in November.

The victory was Souza's fourth in his last seven fights, with his only losses since 2011 coming against Romero (via split-decision), current middleweight champion Robert Whittaker (via TKO) as well as No. 5 contender Kelvin Gastelum (via split-decision).

Hermansson has actually fought twice since that moment, submitting both Gerald Meerschaert and David Branch via guillotine choke during the past four-and-a-half months. The latter bout against Branch took place less than one month ago on March 30, although it took Hermansson just 49 seconds to earn his Performance of the Night award.
