The NBA is back with another excellent slate of games on Monday night, with a total of 11 matchups scheduled for today.
So, I've locked in picks for three of tonight's contests, including bets for Magic vs 76ers, Bulls vs Hawks, and Suns vs Jazz.
Let's get to my NBA predictions, odds and expert bets for Monday, October 27.
NBA Predictions, Odds, Picks, Expert Bets: Monday, October 27
Magic vs. 76ers
Orlando was decent on the road last season, 10-10 ATS as a favorite, but has struggled in Jamahl Mosley’s tenure overall.
The Magic offense has been absolutely atrocious — again— but this cap is more about the Sixers.
Without Joel Embiid, the Sixers play with verve and energy. They look like a good team with capable young players.
With Joel Embiid on the floor through the early season, they are -21.2 per 100 possessions.
With Embiid on the bench after his 20 minutes, they are 17.4 in net rating.
Embiid is listed out for this one so he can play on the back-to-back and trash the Wizards.
The Sixers have big wings to defend the Magic creators and better shooters.
At home, I’ll back the Sixers.
Pick: 76ers +6 (-110)
Bulls vs. Hawks
I make this spread right on the number, but I think the Bulls are better than the power rating.
Chicago has been the No. 1 defense so far this season.
That will drop; the shot quality numbers suggest it’s smoke and mirrors.
But Atlanta’s still looks like a mess.
Jalen Johnson, Kristaps Porzingis, and Zaccharie Risacher are all questionable tonight.
It looks like they’ll play, but it’s enough to take a little off this.
The market strongly disagrees though, having moved this line to Hawks -2.5 overnight from Bulls -1.5.
Pick: Bulls +2.5 (-110)
Suns vs. Jazz
Jazz -1.5
Utah’s playing well.
They may not want to, but fully healthy this Jazz team actually has talent.
Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler, Taylor Hendricks, Sensabaugh, they have guys.
We’ve seen sharp action on the Jazz in this spot. I’ll tail it.
Brice Sensabaugh Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made
Sensabaugh has gone over this line in both games this season, eight of his last 10, and seven straight.
The books are straight up sleeping on this.
Phoenix has a lot of wings, but the Suns are still trying to get settled, and they’ll have to collapse because of the pressure Walker Kessler will apply against an undersized frontcourt.
