Florida State vs Duke College Basketball Betting Preview

The No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament will most definitely come down to either Arizona or Duke.

So, avoiding a letdown here will be crucial for Duke.

At 29-2, the Blue Devils have dominated everyone. Of those wins, 22 have been by double digits. By efficiency, they rank in the top five on offense and have the nation's best defense.

While they are one of the youngest teams in college basketball, which could present problems in the bracket as they face more experienced teams, they rarely ever take forced or bad shots. They have the 13th-best effective field goal percentage, including the fifth-best 2-point percentage.

For Florida State, the Seminoles will need to lean on their 3-point shooting and their experience. They rank 102nd nationally in terms of D-I experience.

Their issue has been three-point shooting, ranked just 234th nationally at 32.9%, but that doesn’t stop them from continuing to jack them up, as they rank 14th in 3-point rate.

This Florida State team also gave the Blue Devils a run for their money, losing by just four points. While that was a long time ago, it’s somewhat comforting.

The other thing here is that Florida State is in the midst of its best stretch in conference play. The 'Noles started conference play at 0-5 and have since gone 10-3.

I think, while absolutely scary to fade Duke, 17.5 points is too wide of a margin.

My Pick: FSU +17.5
