Kansas Basketball
The No. 23 Kansas Jayhawks enter the contest with a record of 3-2, as they've lost their two biggest games of the season (to UNC in Chapel Hill and to Duke in the Champions Classic).
But the biggest story of the campaign for Bill Self and Co. is freshman Darryn Peterson, who is out for the Players Era Festival with a hamstring injury.
Peterson is averaging a team-leading 21.5 points per game this season, so that'll put more pressure on Flory Bidunga, Tre White and the rest of the complementary pieces.
Even when Peterson was in the lineup, the lack of consistent contributions from the role players was Kansas' biggest issue.
Notre Dame Basketball
The Fighting Irish enter with a 4-1 record, with their lone loss coming against Ohio State, 64-63.
This will be Micah Shrewsberry's toughest test of the season, but the Irish do have two solid, experienced guards in Markus Burton and Braeden Shrewsberry.
6-foot-7 freshman Jalen Haralson has also shined this season, as he's averaging 12.5 points per game (second on the team) and is shooting 54.3% from the field.
Beyond those three, though, Notre Dame has some issues with depth, as no one else averages close to double figures in points.
Kansas vs. Notre Dame Betting Analysis
Kansas is battling injury issues, but it remains a deeper team than Notre Dame.
The Jayhawks' size and athleticism will give this Fighting Irish issues throughout the contest.
I expect Kansas to dominate the glass and paint in this game, which will be the key difference.
