UTSA vs Memphis College Basketball Betting Preview
UTSA Basketball
UTSA's last postseason berth was back in 2018, and it'll virtually have no shot at breaking that streak this season. The Roadrunners head into this road matchup in the midst of a 10-game losing streak.
More impressively, or unimpressively in their situation, nine of those losses have been by at least 14 points. Their closest loss was a three-point defeat at the hands of Seattle, and that was at home.
They rank 290th in adjusted defensive efficiency and are 351st in allowing offensive rebounds to the opponent, which is a terrible stat when you consider how much worse their offense is.
They rank 356th or worse in 3-point percentage, 2-point percentage, effective field goal percentage and opponent block percentage on field goal attempts. They also rank 248th in turnovers, giving the ball up on 18.3% of their offensive possessions.
That's not a great sign when taking on a Memphis team that ranks 53rd in defensive turnovers.
Jamir Simpson is by far the Roadrunners' greatest offensive threat, but there's no other player on the roster averaging over nine points per game.

Memphis Basketball
Memphis isn't having a good season thus far, and it's mainly because of its offense.
The Tigers rank 28th in defensive adjusted efficiency, and as bad as their offense is, it's leaps and bounds better than the Roadrunners'.
The Tigers only have only one double-digit scorer, but overall, they're averaging five more points than the visitors.
This Memphis team will rely on havoc, using its defense to create a ton of turnovers.

UTSA vs. Memphis Betting Analysis
A nearly 22-point spread is typically tough for me to get behind, but I just don’t see a way that UTSA can even contend in this game.
The metrics have the Tigers as high as 23- or 24-point favorites.
Memphis will use its ferocious defense to push the pace, and its home court to run away with this game.
I’ll lay the -21.5 and will be willing to lay up to -23 points.
My Pick: Memphis -21.5 (Play to -23)
