Wisconsin vs Nebraska College Basketball Betting Preview

Wisconsin Basketball

This Wisconsin team is power-rated higher than Nebraska and we can't deny the fact that the Badgers have been more battle-tested.

In their wins this season, they've dictated the pace and the flow of the game, and their two losses have been on the road, where that's been a more difficult task.

Those road tests against BYU and TCU are a big reason why I think they may have advantages here.

Nebraska Basketball

It only took a 9-0 start for Nebraska to crack the top 25.

Now the Huskers get a chance to defend that ranking against a 7-2 Wisconsin team. While Nebraska comes in undefeated, it really doesn't have any impressive wins. Its best win is likely a 56th-ranked (via KenPom) Oklahoma team on a neutral court.

Even though Wisconsin is the higher-rated team, the strength of schedule deficiencies of Nebraska have aided the Huskers in this good start.

Nebraska’s biggest struggle comes from the free-throw line, both offensively and defensively. They do a terrible job at earning free throws and rank near the bottom at allowing them. That could spell trouble against a team in Wisconsin that's 10th-best in free-throw percentage.

Wisconsin vs. Nebraska Betting Analysis

This may seem like the obvious play, but both of these teams play at a pace that ranks in the top third of all college basketball.

We expect both teams to get good opportunities — coupled with plenty of shot volume — so this game will go over.

The over currently sits at 159.5 (at the time of writing), and we have advantages in the offensive metrics, coupled with deficiencies in both defenses. There will be plenty of free-throw opportunities — especially for the road team — and plenty of 3-point shot volume, giving us comfort in this over.

My Pick: Over 159.5 (Play to 164)
