Eastern Michigan Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 6-6
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 5-7
  • Conference: MAC
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 51
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 90
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 89

Analysis: Eastern Michigan has been one of the most inconsistent teams in the country. The were able to beat a Big Ten team for the third year in a row, but they then nearly lost to an FCS team. Outside of beating Illinois and Western Michigan, nothing the Eagles did was impressive at all. They have a good passing offense but they may have the worst defense in the conference. That’s tough to do in a conference that features plenty of bad teams. Still, I think Chris Creighton is a good coach so I could see them playing well in a bowl if they get selected. –Kyle Miller

PIttsburgh Betting Stats & 2019 Season Profile

  • Season Record: 7-5
  • Against-the-Spread Record: 7-5
  • Conference: ACC
  • Offense Yards Per Play Rank: 111
  • Defense Yards Per Play Rank: 6
  • S&P+ Special Teams Rank: 99

Analysis: Pitt had a successful run early in the season with victories over Central Florida and cover against Penn State. But once the Panthers were eliminated from Coastal Division contention, Pitt dropped their final games to Virginia Tech and Boston College. Inconsistency on offense and erratic play from QB Kenny Pickett doomed Pitt down the stretch. The Pitt defense is the strength of the team, ranking as one of the best units at creating havoc. The Panthers are third in opponent passing success rate and fourth in sack rate. With Pickett, skill position players and a handful of top tacklers returning in 2020, expect Pat Narduzzi to use this game as a starting point for next season. Narduzzi has yet to win a bowl straight-up in three attempts as Pittsburgh’s head coach. — Collin Wilson
