The Florida State Seminoles open the 2025 college football season against the No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, August 30. The game will be broadcast on 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

The Seminoles struggled mightily to a 2-10 record last season, while the Crimson Tide narrowly missed out on the College Football Playoff.

But this is a new year. With that comes new faces and new teams as a whole.

Let's take a look at the Florida State vs. Alabama odds and my college football picks for this Week 1 NCAAF clash on Saturday, Aug. 30.

Spread: Alabama -13.5

We will ride with the Tide to open up the season. Alabama is coming off a disappointing campaign in 2024 after barely missing out on a spot in the College Football Playoff.

However, the Crimson Tide greatly improved its roster in the offseason and brought in offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, who was on head coach Kalen DeBoer's staff at Washington when they went to the national title game.

There's a serious talent gap between these two teams, and I expect Florida State to continue its struggles this season.

Alabama Player Prop: Ryan Williams Anytime Touchdown

The Seminoles' secondary will have trouble slowing down All-American Ryan Williams in this matchup.

Bama will lean on Williams in the passing game early and often.

Williams hauled in eight touchdowns a season ago, including two in the season opener, so I love the value on him to find the end zone tonight.
