Georgia State vs Ole Miss College Football Betting Preview

We’re rolling with Georgia State getting anything over five touchdowns, which is still hanging out there as of writing. I project this game under 32 and thought the previous line of 38.5 was a bit too high. But this is still a playable line.

Now, fading Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin here does feel a bit risky. I mean, last year he opened strong. beating Furman, 72-0, and Middle Tennessee, 52-3, but those were cupcakes to start the season.

Then, after showing off a lot of their offense, Kentucky smacked them down and essentially knocked them out of the College Football Playoff. And guess who Ole Miss faces in Week 2 this year? Kentucky.

Add in another SEC game against Arkansas and Tulane after that, and I doubt the Rebels want to be airing out all their cards so early this time around. They’ll probably keep a lot off film.

Plus, they’re not quite as dominant as last season, losing a lot of key pieces, including first-round NFL Draft pick Jaxson Dart. Their defense was the backbone, and this year’s squad isn’t close to that.

They're leaning heavily into the transfer portal once again, but this year doesn’t feel like the right time to do that.

On the flip side, Georgia State has some talent. The Panthers can put up points and hang around.

Georgia State vs Ole Miss Pick, Betting Analysis

After last year's debacle against Kentucky, I don't think Kiffin wants to show as much on film and let his offense run wild against a cupcake this time around.

The following three games against Kentucky, Arkansas and Tulane matter significantly. The Rebels don't have four lower-tier teams lined up on the schedule like they did last year.

All things considered, we'll roll with the Panthers at +35 or better.

Pick: Georgia State +35 or Better
