Oregon Ducks 2026 Season

The Ducks got closer last year. Closer isn't the goal in Eugene anymore. 

Oregon finished 2025 at 13-2, ripped through the first two rounds of the College Football Playoff, and then ran headfirst into Indiana in the Peach Bowl semifinal. The Hoosiers won 56-22 and kept right on going to a national title. Oregon closed at No. 4 in the final AP poll with a program that has now made the Playoff in back-to-back seasons and still has zero national championships to show for it. 

Then Dante Moore gave them a reason to think this is the year. After throwing for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns in his first year as a starter, he announced on SportsCenter in January that he'd be back in Eugene chasing a ring. That single decision reshaped Oregon's entire outlook, and the national championship odds moved with it. 

The supporting cast came back too. Wide receivers Evan Stewart and Dakorien Moore, tight end Jamari Johnson, and center Iapani Laloulu all return, and the defense brings back roughly eight starters. Nebraska transfer Dylan Raiola arrived to give the room a serious insurance policy behind Moore. This is one of the most experienced rosters in the country, hence their high positioning in our college football power ratings.

The one genuine question mark is on the sideline. Dan Lanning is entering year five, but both coordinators are new: Will Stein left for the Kentucky head job and Tosh Lupoi took over at Cal. Lanning promoted from inside the building, elevating tight ends coach Drew Mehringer to offensive coordinator and safeties coach Chris Hampton to defensive coordinator. Both got to shadow their predecessors through the Playoff run, and Lanning called the hires "home runs" at Big Ten Media Days. Whether that continuity holds up in Columbus on a Saturday night in November is the thing everybody's actually betting on.
