The Oklahoma Sooners host the Alabama Crimson Tide for the first round of the College Football Playoff in Norman, Oklahoma. Kickoff takes place at 8 p.m. ET, and it will be broadcast live on ABC.
Oklahoma comes into the game as a 1-point favorite despite Alabama thoroughly outgaining the Sooners when these teams played earlier in the season.
I came through with a 2-leg same-game parlay for the first round of the College Football Playoff, including a moneyline pick and a player prop for Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams.
Read on for my Oklahoma vs. Alabama odds and College Football Playoff picksfor Friday, December 19.

Oklahoma vs. Alabama Preview, Same-Game Parlay
The Oklahoma Sooners will host the Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday, kicking off the College Football Playoff.
The Sooners had a strong regular season under head coach Brent Venables. Venables led Oklahoma to a 10–2 record, including a key road win over the Crimson Tide.
Little Elm, Texas native John Mateer has led the Sooners with 2,578 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
But the real strength of this Oklahoma team is its defense, as the Sooners rank seventh nationally in points per game allowed (14.9).
Alabama rolls into the CFP with a 10–3 record after facing one of the most difficult schedules in college football. The Tide picked up key wins over Georgia, Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Tennessee. Kalen DeBoer’s team is coming off a 28–7 loss to Georgia on December 6.
Junior Ty Simpson leads Alabama with 3,268 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
I love the Tide coming into Norman and pulling off the win tonight.
This should be a tightly contested, back-and-forth game, but I give Alabama a significant advantage at quarterback.
Mateer and Oklahoma's offense have struggled throughout the season, and I expect more of the same in this spot.
I trust Simpson more than Mateer to make key plays in a tight game that should come down to the final few possessions.
Williams has had a somewhat disappointing season relative to his preseason expectations.
Even with the down year statistically, he remains one of the most talented wide receivers in college football.
The Mobile, Alabama native ranks second on the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards.
I expect the Tide to struggle running the ball, which should force them to rely on the passing game.
Williams should see enough volume to clear this number. For what it's worth, the junior has cashed this prop in nine of his 10 games this season.
- Alabama ML
- Ryan Williams 30+ Receiving Yards
Parlay Odds: +175 (bet365)
