Oregon State vs Texas Tech Preview

Oregon State Beavers Betting Preview
The Beavers are off to a 0-2 start, suffering losses to California and Fresno State. It's been a disastrous start for the Beavs, who were expected to be a bowl team entering the year.
They have a lot of issues right now, and while I was analyzing the matchup, I honed in on the offensive line.
Thus far, their offensive line has been getting pushed around in the trenches, ranking amongst the bottom portion of the country in Line Yards and Stuff Rate allowed.
Their running game has been nonexistent thus far, ranking 111th nationally in EPA/Rush.
Quarterback Maalik Murphy has been the lone bright spot of the offense, but already has two picks through two games.
Texas Tech's defensive front has not been tested yet, but you still have to worry about the Beavs' offensive front holding up. Murphy will likely not have a clean pocket, which has troubled him a lot.
The Beavers rank sixth nationally in plays per game, which is a rapid tempo. Their lone chance of sticking around against the Red Raiders is if the offense shows up, but the lack of explosives through two games has me extremely concerned for the particular matchup.
Their defense has actually been slightly better than the box scores show, but they are in for some trouble against the Red Raiders. However, Oregon State has been strong in a couple of areas.
The Beavers have been stout against the run and rank among the top of the country in late-down Success Rate allowed. That means they've done an excellent job of holding their opponents on 3rd or 4th down situations, but they have only seen an average of 56 snaps thus far through two games.
The Beavs rank 57th nationally in EPA per Rush allowed, generating a decent amount of HAVOC. However, their secondary has been getting tormented, and they've allowed a lot of explosive plays.
The line has already steamed up to Oregon State +23.5, and I would not be surprised if they closed well past that. The Beavers have shown me nothing thus far that makes me confident they can flirt with an upset.

Texas Tech Red Raiders Betting Preview
Quarterback Behren Morton is a key storyline heading into the matchup. He was removed from the latest Red Raiders' injury report and is good to go, which has led to some steam from the market.
The Red Raiders' overall metrics look outstanding, but I want to re-emphasize the fact that they've essentially faced JV squads the first two weeks of the season.
But good teams tend to beat the pulp out of inferior competition, so we will get a better idea of how the Red Raiders will perform against a more formidable foe in the Beavers.
Morton has thrown seven touchdown passes thus far, completing 77% of his passes. He draws a tasty matchup against the Oregon State secondary, which has been carved through two games and has allowed a ton of explosive passes.
The Red Raiders love running up-tempo and going vertical down the field with their lengthy tight ends and wide receivers. That should work out tremendously here and will correlate to many big plays down the field.
The roster's talent is unquestionable. They are loaded on both sides of the ball. They returned a ton of production and beefed up in the portal.
They clearly have the more talented roster, and I expect their defensive line, led by stud defensive end David Bailey, to dominate the Beavs' offensive front. Many believed they would have the most talented defense in the Big 12, which will correlate to a monster day for the Red Raiders.

Oregon State vs Texas Tech Pick, Betting Analysis
I'm laying the huge number with Texas Tech.
Given who the Red Raiders have played, it's tough to gauge how talented they truly are, but heading into the season, there was a lot to love about the roster.
Morton appears to be near 100% healthy, which will allow them to expose the Oregon State secondary.
Meanwhile, their defensive front will cause havoc against Murphy and Co. all afternoon.
This should be an absolute beatdown, as Oregon State has done nothing in the last couple of weeks to convince me they stand a chance on Saturday.
Pick: Texas Tech -23.5 (-110, bet365)
