Cleveland leads the series 2-1 after a dramatic 3-2 win in Game 3. Tampa Bay topped the American League with a 98-64 record and swept the New York Yankees in the ALDS, while Cleveland stormed back from a 0-2 hole to beat the Chicago White Sox and reach the ALCS. The two clubs met six times during the regular season, and the Rays won four, including a three-game sweep at Tropicana Field in July. Cleveland enters Game 4 riding a four-game winning streak, while Tampa Bay turns to Griffin Jax to slow that run and even the series. Chandler Simpson, Junior Caminero, and Yandy Diaz anchor the Rays lineup, while Jose Ramirez and Chase DeLauter carry the load for the Guardians.

Rays vs. Guardians Preview
The pick here backs the Rays on the moneyline. Tampa Bay owns the better overall roster and the deeper bullpen through this series, and a team built on elite contact and limited strikeouts matches up well in a potential rain-shortened or low-scoring environment. Griffin Jax gives the Rays a reliable arm who keeps the ball on the ground, and that plays well behind a defense built to turn contact into outs. Cleveland’s offense has leaned heavily on timely hitting rather than consistent production, a formula that tends to regress over a long series. Now facing elimination pressure of their own, expect Tampa Bay’s lineup, led by Caminero and Diaz, to produce the two or three runs this game likely needs.
Cleveland’s recent success also masks a lineup that ranked in the bottom half of the league in several key offensive categories during the regular season, and Jax’s sinker-heavy approach limits the hard contact that fueled the Guardians’ Game 3 win. Tampa Bay’s bullpen enters Game 4 fresher than Cleveland’s, since the Guardians leaned on several high-leverage relievers to close out Thursday’s game. That edge matters in a series shaping up to be decided in the late innings rather than through big offensive outbursts. Add in Tampa Bay’s superior regular-season record against right-handed pitching, a trend that favors the Rays against Cleveland’s current rotation plans, and the path toward a bounce-back win becomes clearer. Expect Tampa Bay to grind out a close, low-scoring victory and even the series heading into the weekend.
