Caesars Virginia’s exterior features a hotel tower and the historic “Three Sisters” smokestacks in the background.

Caesars Virginia officially opened in Danville on December 17, 2024, offering a hotel, casino, various dining options, bars, amenities, and more.

It opened to a lot of fanfare. Basketball legend Dennis Rodman even showed up to make the first bet.

My wife and I recently made a trip to check out Caesars Virginia, and we can help answer a handful of commonly asked questions regarding the free drink policy, table minimums, gaming options, and more.

So, without further ado, here's my full Caesars Virginia review of the hotel, casino, and sportsbook.

Caesars Virginia Review of Hotel and Casino

1. Free Drink Policy

Alcoholic beverages are not complimentary at Caesars Virginia, but they are available for purchase at many locations across the property. However, soft drinks, coffee, juice, and more are available to those actively gaming.

2. Table Minimums

Our trip was a quick one—just over 24 hours, to be exact—but because it took place from Tuesday to Wednesday, I can't speak to table minimums on weekends. During our visit, minimums ranged from $15 to $25 depending on the table and, perhaps more importantly, remained at those minimums throughout the entire day and night.

3. Gaming Options

Typical table games are available at Caesars Virginia, including blackjack, roulette, craps, and more. We spent most of our time playing roulette and 3-card poker and never had a problem finding a seat at either game. Most of the gaming floor was taken up by slots, with many popular machines like the Huff N' More Puff variations, Dragon Link, Buffalo variations, video poker, and more.

4.Caesars Sportsbook

every caesars virginia review mentions the sportsbook because it has a bar with televisions that make sure you don't miss any of the action.
The full-service Caesars Sportsbook spans over 4,000 square feet and has 540 square feet of LED TV screens across 23 televisions.

The sportsbook isn't massive, but it's very nice with plenty of screens, places to sit, a counter to make wagers, a bar, and rows of betting kiosks.

5.Dining Options

Caesars Virginia isn't loaded with restaurants, but it includes Ramsay's Kitchen, Three Stacks, Dan Dan Noodle Bar, Starbucks, and the 500 Block Food Hall. We grabbed cocktails and the sticky cauliflower appetizer (which was fantastic, by the way) at Ramsay's Kitchen, then ordered Mongolian beef, sushi, and edamame from Dan Dan Noodle Bar for dinner. The Mongolian beef and edamame were very good, while the sushi was fine, but nothing spectacular.

6. Bars

There are various bars throughout the hotel and casino. As mentioned above, we grabbed cocktails at Ramsay's Kitchen—I got a dirty martini while my wife thoroughly enjoyed a salted caramel martini—and spent time at the sportsbook bar sipping beer while playing video poker.

7. Hotel

when you're looking up a caesars virginia review, be sure to check on the hotel rooms and the service that is provided with each because it could vary.
The new Caesars Virginia include a 500-room hotel and a world-class casino gaming floor with over 1,300 slots, 85 live table games, 24 electronic table games, a WSOP poker room and a Caesars Sportsbook.

We stayed in a Luxury Mountain View Room and were delighted with the room's design and cleanliness. The bathroom and shower were particularly great, and the bed was also very comfortable. Our visit took place in April, and the pool was not yet open, but I'll add a pool review here after our next visit. There is also a very nice fitness center with cardio and weight-lifting equipment.

Caesars Virginia Is Impressive

Overall, I was very impressed with Caesars Virginia, specifically the hotel and gaming. However, the biggest con, in my mind, is a lack of activities outside of gambling.

one caesars Virginia review points out that alcoholic beverages in the casino are not complimentary, but soda, coffee and juices are free.
Guests arrive through a porte-cochère and into the lobby, which is decorated with a statue of Augustus, white marble columns, and a golden chandelier.

This property may not be the best if you're planning on bringing kids. I prefer Harrah's Cherokee, which offers two outdoor pools, one indoor pool, an arcade, bowling, and an ESports Zone if you're interested in more family entertainment.

However, if you're looking for a fun, adult getaway with family and/or friends, I highly recommend Caesars Virginia.
