Toward the end of January, there were heavy snowstorms across the country that made their way through Chicago, but could even more snow be coming to Chicago in February?

For anyone interested in Chicago weather predictions, Kalshi allows users to place real money on the outcome in most states.

Chicago Weather Predictions: February Snow Odds

At the far ends of the snow prediction spectrum, there's almost unanimous agreement that Chicago will get above 0.1 inches of snow in February, and that the total will not exceed 25.0 or 30.0 inches, though those thresholds are still being offered as potential longshots.

The odds for getting above four inches of snow are very high, and eight inches is also considered likely. Above 12 inches of snow is hovering around a 25% chance, and 18 inches hovers at around 15%.

While it's almost a guarantee that Chicago will get more snow throughout the month, it remains to be seen just how much snow will actually fall in the Windy City.

What is Kalshi?

Different than a traditional sportsbook and available in most states, Kalshi allows users to make predictions across several unique markets, including sports, entertainment, elections, and even weather.

Kalshi operates on a contract-based system where users buy "contracts" (priced between 1–99 cents) based on whether they believe a specific event will happen. The price of each contract fluctuates in real time based on market sentiment, and like the stock market, traders can sell positions early to lock in profits (or minimize losses).
