Mohegan Sun Casino has seen some huge wins recently, but nothing can top this one.

A guest from Connecticut hit a massive $2,018,742.30 jackpot while playing Spanish 21 at the Casino of the Earth. This win, thanks to a $5 Bonus Spin Xtreme side bet and the lucky spin of Triple Diamonds, is the biggest table game jackpot so far at Mohegan Sun this year and ranks among the top five ever at the casino.

The casino posted an image of one of its Spanish 21 tables on its X account.

The post's description read: "Congratulations to our winner on this unforgettable moment!"

The win was reminiscent of the large jackpot someone took home in April at the Mohegan Sun Casino of the Sky while playing the "Squid Game" slot machine. It also reminded us of the time another Casino of the Sky guest turned a $10 bet into a win of over a quarter million dollars.

Or when it took just one spin on the MONOPOLY Cash Wheel Blazing 777 Triple Double Jackpot Wild slot machine to change someone's life at the Casino of the Earth. The player, wagering just $5 per spin, hit the jackpot when they lined up three 'MONOPOLY JACKPOT' symbols on Line 5, activating the progressive jackpot, and winning them more than $400,000.

The Biggest Jackpot Win at Mohegan Sun in Over a Year

Before this most recent (Spanish 21) win, the biggest jackpot won at Mohegan Sun in 2025 happened when a player hit for nearly $1.4 million. The lucky player hit it in January while playing a slot machine themed around "Jumanji." According to Mohegan Sun's records, this was the top win at the time.

If you're looking for the last big win on a Spanish 21 table at a Mohegan Sun casino, you have to go all the way back to June 2024. That's when another lucky guest hit for $1,245,232.85 while playing Spanish 21, and hit the Triple Diamonds meter, according to a Mohegan Sun news release.

The only other jackpot that came close last year was the $483,622.40 won by Maged K. He's from Franklin Square, NY., and walked away with that bag in May of last year while playing at a blackjack table in the Casino of the Earth. This jackpot was also won by playing the optional $5 side bet.

What is the Difference Between Spanish 21 and Standard Blackjack?

Spanish 21 is a casino table game based on blackjack, but with several unique twists and additional player options.

Key Differences from Standard Blackjack

  • No 10s in the deck.

  • More liberal player rules (doubling, splitting, surrender, rescue).

  • Player blackjacks and 21s always beat the dealer’s.

  • Special bonus payouts for certain hands

Spanish 21 is designed to be more favorable to players in many situations, despite the removal of the 10s, thanks to its player-friendly rules and bonus payouts. Mohegan Sun has sixteen Spanish 21 tables.

Other Recent Big Wins at Mohegan Sun

In other big wins, Jimmie B. from Bridgeport, CT, won the Super Grand Jackpot of $211,079.52 playing Dollar Storm at the Casino of the Sky on Sunday. The very next morning, another guest named Patrick H. won $115,266.58 on Railroad Riches. Both jackpots were won in the Hold & Spin Slot Zone.

These recent wins highlight Mohegan Sun as a popular spot for players hoping to hit a jackpot. With so many games and opportunities, visitors have plenty of chances to win big. But remember to always practice responsible gambling habits.
