Washington's three-game skid reached another low last week when Iowa built a 27-0 lead and won 41-24. The Huskies finished with minus-3 rushing yards on 25 carries, and the larger problem has been there all season. Washington averages roughly 90 rushing yards per game, near the bottom of FBS.
The quarterback situation makes that weakness more important. Williams suffered a rib injury against Iowa, and Elijah Brown has been taking first-team reps. Brown was productive in relief, completing 28 of 39 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns, but Friday would put him in a much tougher spot on the road.
Purdue, meanwhile, has started to find an offensive identity. The Boilermakers beat Illinois 24-17 on the road before handling Minnesota 41-13 last week.
Ryan Browne has completed 69% of his passes with nine touchdowns against one interception, while Fame Ijeboi gives Purdue a reliable rushing threat after carrying 31 times for 195 yards and three touchdowns against Minnesota.
Washington can still challenge Purdue through the air. Dezmen Roebuck has been one of the most productive receivers in the country, and Purdue's pass defense remains the biggest weakness in the matchup.

Purdue has the more balanced offense right now. Browne has protected the ball, Ijeboi gives the Boilermakers a dependable rushing option and the offense has produced back-to-back conference wins.
Washington's defense can create pressure, which is the main reason I would rather take the Purdue winner contract than push into a more aggressive margin market. The Huskies have 21 sacks, and Purdue's secondary can still give up explosive plays.
I project something close to Purdue 27, Washington 20.
